Oddly, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wB2HnysPp63fezUzfgpk0JX_b7bXvmAg6-Dk7QDyKPY/ has it (which makes sense, since it and MacROMan track each other), but it includes details that imply that I had the ROM at some point to validate -- but if that were the case, it should be in TestImages.
I'm curious if the PDF is just a printout of my spreadsheet of the same name? |

If they're not available then I'll dump mine (I don't have a complete 5300, but I do have a logic board). I would like a copy of that dump when you get around to it. Or maybe someone with a complete 5300 can do it. |

Oh yes, haven't forgotten. The thing is, I'm out of town. If a PB5300 user hasn't done it by the weekend after next, I'll get on it.

Excellent. Some additional data for the 1400/166:
-The CPU is a 603ev
- It supports 8-64MB (this applies to the early 1400 ROM as well).
- We're assuming it will boot Mac OS 7.5.2 but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed. I suppose there's no real reason it shouldn't.
n.b. There's a bit of a misconception floating around about some models only supporting up to 56MB, but IMHO it's a misunderstanding of a technical issue. |

I have a 5300ce (the fancy model with the 800x600 display and 117 MHz CPU), but someone must have replaced the LCD with one from a standard 5300c before I got it, because it only displays at 640x480.

It does have the "5300ce" badge, however, so it apparently is a genuine 5300ce, aside from the display.

The resolution bump is considerable in the ce, fine also for the larger 1400 display, but a pathetically low resolution by the time of the 3400/TAM era. 1024x768 should have been available well before WallStreet, even if in a 3400/Kanga sized panel. |

I haven't the foggiest clue what LCD panel I should look for to restore my PB5300's ce-ness.
And even if I did, I somehow doubt I'd be able to afford it in this day and age (sometimes I wish the social media influencers hadn't discovered old Macs! The prices have nearly tripled in the years since they did!)

I knew the cs, being passive matrix, used a different cable than the active matrix panels, but I didn't think the different res active matrix panels did, though I'm not surprised.
Probably my best chance of acquiring both the ce panel and matching cable would be from a parts unit.

As I said in my last post, it didn't occur to me that they might use different cables, but I'm not surprised that they do.
Oh, well. It's not a big deal, really. I don't use that machine much anyway. The last time I remember powering it up was at least 10 years ago, maybe longer (it's been so long, I fear it likely doesn't work anymore).
