Why risk damaging it? Plenty of east coast collectors are out there, someone will pick it up local. Yea thats true |
Posted by: croissantking on 2024-08-20 03:08:59 Such a weird name, Power Macintosh and LC used together. And in general seeing ‘LC’ resurrected for use on a PPC machine. I kind of like it in a way.
OTOH Performa is a bit of a joke for a name. Glad there were no PerformaBooks. |

Not impossible, improbable. Just has to be suspended properly. You wanna build these guys a nice little cloud. Not cram them tight with hard padding I had good success with pool noodles cut to surround the plastic edges to give them extra protection. Shipped probably 30 SE/30s that way without a single one breaking. |

What would you value that at sir? And yea these machines are all complete came from school here in sj YEARS ago. Computer/technology teacher among other things
eBay Sold listings would be a good place to check. Seems to be about $100 for a bog 6100. |

I had good success with pool noodles cut to surround the plastic edges to give them extra protection. Shipped probably 30 SE/30s that way without a single one breaking. SE/30s aren’t brittle like these though, that’s the issue. A well packed SE/30 will nearly always arrive intact. |
Posted by: Unknown_K on 2024-08-20 15:46:45 The 6100 is pretty thick, but to take the top cover off you have to bend those plastic tabs and those will break sooner or later.
With prices for working machine rising, we have seen some models get new motherboards manufactured, sooner or later we will see new cases as well (assuming 3D printing keeps getting faster and cheaper).
I assume that before I die people will have SE/30's where pretty much the only thing original might be the 68030 CPU. |
Posted by: Scott Baret on 2024-08-20 17:13:54 I'm pretty sure this was the final model to be called an LC. |
Posted by: Rhodestorelief on 2024-09-18 08:26:06 I figured out the best way to ship them lol. Not super cost affective but doesn't make it as useless sale. Regular foam around lining of box and 3" memory foam surrounding entire unit. Im 3/3 so far! Side note anybody interested in this or can anyone help me price it? It's been customized heavily |
Posted by: finkmac on 2024-09-18 08:57:23 i'll give you 50 for it |
