It also came with a display card with a DB15 output. This is normal, you're not meant to run them without a card or a terminator in the PDS slot. Is it an AV or a HPV card? Easy way to tell is that it is an AV card if it has SVideo connectors. |

Stacked 2MB HPV card
View attachment 64551 Nice that it has the SIMMs π |
Posted by: ClassicGuyPhilly on 2023-11-03 08:25:48 With a little shelf reconfiguration made a very nice spot for the G4 and an area for CPU storage. I can reconfigure the other three under desk sections the same to allow for additional CPU storage areas as my insanity continues π

Posted by: Phipli on 2023-11-03 08:36:12 @ClassicGuyPhilly .... Out of curiosity... By what percentage has your collection of Apple hardware increased in the last year?
π |
Posted by: ClassicGuyPhilly on 2023-11-03 08:40:45 I started with the IIfx on April 22nd of this year. In addition to the computers in my sig I also have 2x ImageWriter IIs, an Apple Dot Matrix, and a StyleWriter π π€£ |

So is that infinity percent increase year on year? You might have the fastest increasing collection of any of us! |

You might have the fastest increasing collection of any of us! Is that a badge of honor or shame?
Hard to say what I enjoy more, the machines or the 68kmla community π |

Hard to say what I enjoy more, the machines or the 68kmla community π The machines probably give you less cheek. |

The machines probably give you less cheek. Vs some 68kmla-ers...absolutely π |

The machines probably give you less cheek. Is that a British term for something?
What does it mean?

c Erm... Like... Teasing? Does really have another way of saying it. It can be both good and bad. |
Posted by: oldmacuser on 2023-11-04 08:01:08 Wow! a Very nice collection! @ClassicGuyPhilly |

"ribbing" is probably the nearest US term but they're not totally equivalent. |
Posted by: CC_333 on 2023-11-04 08:16:00 Ah, I see!

Posted by: ClassicGuyPhilly on 2023-11-04 08:34:02 Thanks @oldmacuser !
Inre "cheek" isn't there an element of "sass" or "light disrespect" too? Could be in fun or bad as @Phipli alluded. |
Posted by: ClassicGuyPhilly on 2023-12-12 05:01:43 Yeah, so this happened yesterday π€£
Pair of G4 AGP's, a 350 on the left and 400 on the right. Both came with 10GB hard drives, the 400 with 64MB of RAM and a Zip 250. Both cases are in great shape.
Cleanup and setup to follow.
|
Posted by: CC_333 on 2023-12-12 07:19:23 That G4 on the right doesn't have a stock Zip bezel?
c |
Posted by: ClassicGuyPhilly on 2023-12-12 10:03:59 I don't think the Zip was original, it's a 250MB and according to everymac.com this G4 was only offered with a Zip 100.
So quick updates. Both machines work
The 400 actually came with 256MB of RAM, added another 128MB. 10GB hard drive works, has fresh 9.2.2 install. Zip drive didn't work at first try, more to explore on that.
350 was given 64MB of RAM, also good hard drive and 9.2.2 |
Posted by: LaPorta on 2023-12-12 10:41:03 Nice pair! Whereβd you get them? Sure the Iomega Driver was installed on the Zip one? |
