There's not really an 'expected' set of lanes for 8 bit devices. Both Apple and 3rd parties have put things all over the place, likely to try and keep loading on the data bus even across all the lanes. It works perfectly fine on 040 if the driver writes to the correct address. Remember that this card is on an 030 bus, which is adapted to the 040 by custom fpga logic that we already know that doesn't perfectly handle all cases. The driver is not aware or expecting this, so if it's relying on byte smearing then it may be in trouble. Not impossible to fix - but a possible explanation for /why/ it needs fixing. | Posted by: Arbee on 2024-06-30 16:48:53
