mmmm not sure, this one? https://www.thepinkstuff.co.uk/

That's it yep. I use the paste stuff, very slightly abrasive - good for cleaning really stubborn dirt off and it gets all the dirt out of the 'grain' of the beige plastics. Use with a toothbrush for the Snow White grooves on SE/30, IIci, IIfx etc cases.

I like 'The Pink stuff' for cleaning Mac cases. Not sure if it's available outside of the UK but it works great.
The Pink Stuff seems to have gained popularity in the US over the past year. I’ve seen it in many fluff articles in Apple News, and it is now available at my local Walmart.

I use diluted Dawn detergent. I can’t comment on how well it works, as I haven’t cleaned any Macs since 2012 and just can’t remember.

FYI

It seems "the pink stuff" contains more "natural" ingredients, plus quartz powder for a gentle abrasive action.
The second one (that's what I usually use) is not abrasive but it has an high degreaser power, also at low temperatures.
There's also another choice (which I use also for other things) :

Don't know what is its name outside Italy; it's slightly abrasive (like a cream) and it has also whitening properties (good for yellowed cases).

It's called the same thing in the UK at least: I think they changed the name here a couple of decades ago so it had the same name all over Europe.

Oh, I do too. Mostly because I've never worked out what to do with that initial C-.

Maybe I should split the difference and start calling it "Chiff", just to annoy everyone.

(Yes, I've been reading about phonology this week, how did you guess?)

Uh the italian pronunciation is like saying "cheaf"
Posted by: joshc on 2023-05-05 22:29:35

what about the magic sponge?
I use it with care because it can whiten the plastic since it's abrasive,
someone I recall used it in place of the retrobright technique

@Pushpull76 , from Italy here as well, nice conquest

It tends to make the plastic shiny and remove the texture a little. I'd never do a whole machine, it's only for marks that nothing else will remove, that a slightly shiny patch is less bad. I tend to use it on coloured pencil marks.

Vintage computing seems to be rather popular in Italy, bought several items on Ebay from Italy, there are quite some sellers from there, and mostly fairly priced as well!
