When I did get it working, I was amazed at how clean and smooth it worked.
I’ll see what I can do before I leave for vacation in Florida this week. If not, it’ll have to wait until I come back. Hi there! Unfortunately, the image from above didn't work . It threw me one of those Fx codes. Could you please send us that file when you get a second? Thanks! |

Hi
Hi there! Unfortunately, the image from above didn't work . It threw me one of those Fx codes. Could you please send us that file when you get a second? Thanks! Sure, I’ll have to make it first. I’ve never ripped it to a file, just used the Jaz cartridges once I imaged the A/UX installer to them. |

If this image that robin-fo links to doesn’t work let me know and I’ll work on what I discussed above.
What problem did you experience with it? I just tested it with my RaSCSI on a IIsi and it works fine… (I only changed the extension from .dsk to .hda)
Are images with „normal“ MacOS versions booting normally? |

Posted by: Mike68k on 2023-07-05 07:18:04 Just noting that download #4 on this page (so called Shoebill image) also works on Blue SCSI.
Just have to change the file name to proper scsi blue format of like HD06_512.dsk
Also - my setup wasn't happy when the A/UX disk image was included amongst my other working drives (some with system folders) -- the system kinda hung around when the Happy Mac should show, FYI. So you may want to try just with that one image for starters in Blue SCSI. |
Posted by: some_random_person on 2023-09-05 19:27:39 Just to add one more note on a success with an SE/30, I set the previously mentioned Shoebill image as a boot volume on a ZuluSCSI adapter connected to a SE/30 with a MacRominator II. It is pretty slow compared to other Mac OSes of that era (unsurprisingly), but it boots and runs. |
Posted by: Mike68k on 2023-09-05 19:28:49 That's awesome! |
Posted by: stepan on 2024-06-12 07:55:42 Is there a trick to get the Shoebill image to work on a SE/30 with IIsi ROM? I can boot the disk image but all Unix binaries are failing.
With the original ROM it works fine, but I don't want to lose MacOS 8.1 🫣 |
