Missing Pressure Pad (and Shield) from 400K Floppy Drive

I wish that someone had seen my post and had mentioned the Q-tip idea
Sorry! I have posted my "hack" a few times in the past. I'll try to keep a better watch. I'll also cross-post my comment above to your thread in case someone lands there. Yes, an "original" pad does tend to go for silly money when they come up - hence my Q-tip method.

I never even knew they made any with plastic tubes...
Sadly yes, and you'd notice specially if go to the beach and see in the sea all those that people throws to the toilet...

And yet they wonder why there's a pollution problem.... 🙄

Ewww... and again, Eww.

Thanks, for that. I think I'm a little frustrated that I did not think of something like this when I literally have a cup of these (the paper kind) sitting off to the side of my desk for cleaning up all kinds of vintage hardware. I still would have eventually bought an actual pressure pad, but I would have probably taken my time and maybe found a better deal. On the other hand, a lot of these items seem only to be rising in price these days.

...or two 1/2 years later, I might be re-capping the sweep/PS board in the 512 and something inside the case finally becomes dislodged and basically falls out. Yep, not only did I buy one of these a few years ago, but now, I have my original back!

I guess I just needed patience measured by years. By now, I probably need one of these somewhere else, I will have to check...
