Lisa Workshop Macintosh Supplement
Posted by: snuci on 2016-05-22 12:32:36
Hang on for a little.  I just sent a message to the CC-Talk list that had a post about the Inside Macintosh books.  I posted links to the documentation and disk images and requested that if anyone else has any earlier documentation or disks to let me know.  Let's see if I get any replies.  I am completely on board with sharing this and am hoping I can get it on http://archive.orgwhere the Inside Macintosh Promotional version is already posted.

OK, thanks, just let me know! It would be great if you could get links to more stuff.

So I originally started this thread to see if I could get the Mac Supplement to enable Macintosh development under Lisa Workshop, to see if I could compile MacPaint in its original environment.  Thanks to all the posts here, I have the supplement now and we even turned up some really interesting additional history!  I am thankful that there are people out there who help preserve this stuff.

Looks like I made a mistake, however, and MacPaint was not developed under the Lisa Workshop at all, but rather the older Lisa Monitor.  Does anyone know anything about it, like:

1. What was the last version of the Monitor, and is it available somewhere?

2. Were the files necessary for Macintosh development under the Lisa Monitor ever released outside of Apple?

Many many thanks!

Look here for Lisa Monitor (if this is what you are looking for bhuntsman):

I should have looked on Bitsavers.  I totally forgot 🙂

Thank you for the links, snuci!

I *think* that is part of what I am looking for, but they appear to be primarily for a Lisa 1, not a Lisa 2, and they do not work well (or in some cases at all) under LisaEm.  Too bad I don't own a real Lisa. 🙂

The last version of Monitor they have there is 12.3.  Does anyone know, was that the last version for the Lisa 2 as well?

Thanks again!!
