No. going to take a break from it for now, then do some more tracing and attempt to figure it out. Sometimes a break definitly helps, let us know when you take another crack at it. | Posted by: Ajediday on 2022-03-26 21:04:39 Well I went back to it, removed the next chip, cleaned up under it, checked connections, put everything back together and got nothing...no startup sound, no death chimes. Doubled checked my work, touched up the gaps, fixed three other gaps, and tried again. Start up chimes again...and nothing else. Hooked up monitor, keyboard, and put a good battery in. No video. So getting closer. | Posted by: jajan547 on 2022-03-26 22:34:56 Okay try this, I know on my LC475 it works but sometimes it has video troubles, try powering on and off again in short cycles until you see some video this should take no more than six tries. | Posted by: Ajediday on 2022-03-27 06:44:13 Still nothing. I tested my display with my 450 and the same cable/adapter, that worked fine. I have a MacSD in that machine and noticed the leds on the MacSD on boot, there was a cycling then normal start. On the 475, nothing other than power and termination ever lit up. We aren't getting to scanning for a boot device. Based on this https://macgui.com/news/article.php?t=496 and the assumption that the startup is more or less in the same order for the 475. "Let's take stock of what has happened thus far, if there have been no errors. The screen is black. The VIA was initialized. We heard the boot beep. The IWM was initialized. ROM was check-summed and the RAM was tested." So based on that something isn't allowing us to move forward with start or something isn't getting initialized correctly. | Posted by: jajan547 on 2022-03-27 13:01:26

I'll take as look and see what I can dig up. | | < 2 |
