Posted by: Verault on 2021-10-28 06:44:47 The only update I have is UTsource sent me an email a couple hours ago saying my item was shipped USPS but the tracking number they sent was only 9 digits! I emailed them back saying thats not a valid tracking number. So hopefully they respond. |

They use a forwarding service, that will ultimately drop them into the mail when it hits the US. It will be assigned a USPS tracking number at that point, I believe. The 9 digit tracking is only for the freight forwarding tracking. |

The forwarder will provide updates like "Arrived Hong King" and "Departed Hong Kong" and "Arrived Destination Country".
If you visit the tracking site here, you can input your number: https://t.17track.net/en |

Posted by: Verault on 2021-11-04 10:39:58 Ok so this is interesting. I made the order with UTSource on the 25th of October. I received a shipment notification on Oct 28th with a 9 digit code that is untrackable (with all the Asian postage trackign sites I have used regularly anyway). I Thought this was weird as I paid for and chose USPS. Now I have sent 6 different emails to UTsource at the only email I have been able to find online, sales@utsource.com. I have changed the subject on most of them and it doesnt matter. They do NOT respond to any of your messages which is rather upsetting.
On November 3rd I received a packaged from Columbus OH which I thought was a Points rebuild kit for my snowblower... But nope it turned out to be my UTSource order. I wonder why it has a Columbus OH USPS address as the return label even though it came from china.
But I am pretty surprised I ordered this on the 25th of Oct and it was in NYC customs on the 29th according to tracking.
I havent had time to test them out to be working yet. I will report back on that.

It's often easier/cheaper/faster to combine lots of small shipments into one big one that gets broken up in the destination country. The paperwork quantity amortises well 🙂. |
Posted by: Verault on 2021-11-08 08:49:05 I just wanted to give a final update on the SCSI chips I bought from UTsource. They arrived and they work fine. So it was a good purchase and the LC is working now; even installed a BlueSCSI in it. |

Posted by: Verault on 2021-11-08 09:37:09 yep, they are genuine and work. From what I can tell they are used but pristinely clean. There are tiny solder balls and solder smudges you might miss without magnification where the legs must have been cleaned and removed of solder. i made sure to clean then all thoroughly before using them. I am happy with the speed at which I received my order and the price however I still have not gotten a single reply to all 6 of my emails I sent to them... so god forbid if you have an actual problem with your order. |
