There are threads on the forum (or just google 8.24 gc gworld to find them) that show the SIMMs that worked on an 8.24gc (64 pin there from what I recall).

I never had that card to know what works on it or the max it can take.

I was lucky enough to find something that worked on my Supermac Thunders but could only use 2 of the 4 slots probably because there is a max limit? Sine apple designed the 8.24GC they could have used whatever they had handy at the time in inventory like IIfx RAM or their own VRAM.

I think it's the same RAM as one of the Laserwriters, and it's not compatible with IIfx RAM.

The reason laserwriter 64 pin SIMMs don't work in a IIfx is speed related.
