Quack: Bluetooth & ADB Mouse "Dongle" for the Macintosh 128/512/Plus

The Logitech with probably work.

Tried with a Kensington Mouse and it didn't work. Turns out @tashtari found why, Kensington pointing devices are composite (long story short: they show up as two different devices on the bus)

I need to implement a workaround for that, if possible. To double check that, I ordered a Kensington Turbo Mouse from the other side of the pond, it should be there next month.

Documentation updated

Aww... bummer. After stripping & cleaning mine, plus adding an 8-ball 😎 [https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/better-trackball-for-kensington-turbo-mouse.46169/] - it's my favorite pointy device. I'd still like one, and will be happy to help with the journey - will at least be able to confirm the Logitech works. Dropping you a PM.

Alright, firmware v1.4.6 is out

Thanks to @tashtari help, we were able to add support for composite devices. This should work with (I hope) all Kensington devices and a few more (a few joysticks are already working as a bonus). I'm still waiting for the trackball I bough last week to double check this

Bluetooth bug fixes done as well

Just a quick report - can confirm Kensington Turbo Mouse 4.0 (Model 64100) working with a Plus! Cool device & great work! Now to put my Lisa back together and test it there!

Small updates:

- there is finally a front plate i'm happy with. It has been shipped to previous owners as well.
- now the right bluetooth click acts as an half click, like some devices did back then

How does the Bluetooth mouse connect to the adapter?

How does the Bluetooth mouse connect to the adapter?

Not sure if that's what you are asking, but, shortly after boot, the adapter will scan for a mouse in pairing mode around and connect to it. Subsequent boot does not require the mouse to be in pairing mode

I am using firmware version 1.4.4, ABD to Bluetooth mode, and the computer can search for Quack ADB Mouse, but when connecting it prompts to enter the pin. I enter 0000 or 1234, but it always prompts that the pin is incorrect and cannot connect

Got it. That's an old unsupported mode which doesn't work anymore due to Bluetooth security updates. It never worked with MacOS. I think you are the first person to use it.

With 1.4.4 you can try with the pin 484848, it worked on Windows 10 back then
