What the hack! My current Powerbook 170 Setup
Posted by: dan.dem on 2021-01-30 01:53:51
Thank you, Dirk. I remember Mulberry, but never have tried it.

I am still admiring your setup (and the photos of it).

I had actually used a slightly newer, less fancy variant around 1998 with a PowerBook 5300 directly connected to an Apple 16" Monitor, Toshiba portable SCSI-CD-ROM drive (which could - like Apple's PowerCD - also act as a stand-alone CD-player), SCSI hard and ZIP-drive, PC-card modem, ADB keyboard and Mouse. This setup took over half of my desk and was neither fast nor very stable.

Have you successfully sold your gear, Dirk? I managed to further reduce my "collection" (see sig-line).

Hi Dirk,

I keep coming back to this thread, this is such a cool setup. Where did you get the black riser piece that the PowerBook is sitting on? That’s a nice piece of design, I’m wondering if you bought it or made it?

Cheers,

Joel

Hi.

You will find it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/kalibri-Computer-Monitor-Wood-Stand-oak-black/dp/B07HRT24LS

Thanks for that. I'm not sure if you ever got around to selling your collection but I'd love to buy the Studio Display if you still have it.

Chers,

Joel
