I used what software has been linked. It only worked on the se/30. I had the drive up and running and formatted. I could see my hard drive. Then today I fire it up and nothing. No hard drive. Same f'ing issue. I give up
Im at the point where maybe I should replace my hard drive. Will that work? And where can you get a hard drive for the se/30?
| Posted by: Cory5412 on 2019-05-18 19:09:30 It's entirely possible for the hard disk in a thirty year old machine to just kind of up and die one day.
If the hard disk did die, then, it should be replaced. SCSI2SD is a viable modern replacement. You'll get better capacity, the ability to simulate multiple disks for even more capacity, and better speed, plus reliability. The V5 and V5.1 are both suitable, and are available here, if you're in the USA: https://store.inertialcomputing.com/category-s/100.htm (this vendor is also a member of the forum.)
Otherwise: ebay, craigslist, the trading post here, LEMswap. under-4GB external hard disks aren't exactly a part that's being manufactured new.
| Posted by: sleestack808 on 2019-05-18 19:17:42 the hard disk didn't die. I just want the computer to forget the configuration. RESET. I can't get out of this. That Syquest drive totally messed it up.
