| SuperMac Thunder/24 ROM needed |
Posted by: Unknown_K on 2019-05-25 13:04:17 If you are going to use the old EPROMs you will need to get an eraser as well (UV light in a housing).

Posted by: omidimo on 2019-05-25 18:49:20 I ordered a cheap UV eraser in case its needed. Looking thru Arrow & Mouser and one can get lost.

Posted by: Fizzbinn on 2019-05-27 18:22:56 Any chance someone with an EPROM burner would be willing to burn a 3.0 chip for me? Would be willing to pay any reasonable costs as long as it’s favorable to buying my own burner and chips.

Posted by: Fizzbinn on 2019-05-28 20:51:06 The bin files above seem to be 64KBytes (512Kbits). The chips look a lot like the Mac ROM chips from my 512k. Maybe these “27c512 Eproms”:

Sorry if this isn’t helpful, kinda new to this.

Posted by: omidimo on 2019-05-29 17:33:13 @Bolle Do you have any recommendations on eprom chips of the 27C512 kind?
|
Posted by: Bolle on 2019-05-29 23:48:57 Just use what’s available.
Those Atmel chips will do, just be sure to flash them correctly on the first go as they can’t be erased.

Posted by: Von on 2019-06-05 21:20:32 I have been following this thread with great interest as I have a Radius PrecisionColor 8-Xj video card with dead ROM that appears to be similar to the ROM on @ipv7net 's SuperMac card.
@omidimo ... if you get your programmer working, I greatly appreciate you taking a pass at burning a ROM for my 8-Xj. I'll supply the chips...

Thank you for the dump but it seems to be incomplete, it's half the size (32Kb) of the two other copy I have (64Kb each), tried it anyway (for the little time it takes) and with it the board doesn't work (no video output, not recognized by tuttletech in any way), maybe you read the eprom as a 27c256 insted of the (supposedly) correct 27c512 ? can you check it ?
No problem sharing my copy of the rom for the card, here's the two version I have, 1.15 was the original version on my card and 1.161 is the one found on the bitsavers.org archive, this two rom works without problem at least with my revision of the Thunder/24.
