Help on connecting SE/30 to LAN/router

Midi and audio - very different things.. it is the audio files that are interesting to work on with different systems.

Another thought would be to make a dual boot iMac with an old and a new version of OSX on it, using the old version when I wanted to work with OS7 files and FTP. But my 2011 iMac probably wont be able to run OSX 10.4 tiger...

I use a 2001 iMac with 10.3.9 and 9.2 on it. I had tried to run 10.4.6 from my 2009 mac mini and that didn’t work but since getting the iMac for £20 it bridges new and old really well.

10.4 can run on intel core duo but it has to be an early 10.4 but it didn’t work for me hence bridge machines are really cheap.

Alternatively a bridge computer in between old and new seems to be a common approach
Perhaps that could be a solution. Would the audio files be ok going from SE/30 to G4 to the iMac and then back again and still work in the SE/30 with the resource forks intact?

I still have my ca 2002 G4 running OS9.2.2. How would that work?

God yes, that would be perfect

obvisously  it depends on what file types you’re wanting to transfer as there are limited codecs running back on 7.1. Ogg Vorbis is available as is wav with the right software of course so yes in theory between the se/30 and g4
