| Mac Classic Video Issue |
Posted by: Tempest on 2018-06-09 11:11:14 I fixed the bad looking solder joints on the neck board, but I didn't see anything obvious on the analog board. Everything was looking good so I was just about ready to put it all back together again and of course something happened. Now the upper right corner of my screen is slightly pulled in and is 'wiggling' constantly. I think the upper left is pulled in a little too. It must be that the analog board needs a recap.

Capacitors on the Classic will leak, just a matter of when.
Most of the time, not easy to see until caps are removed, and capacitors won't bulge either.

Posted by: Tempest on 2018-06-12 07:38:50 I'm getting it recapped. I had my motherboard done a few years back but not the AB.
I should have stuck with the SE... 😉

Posted by: Tempest on 2018-09-16 19:22:14 Anyone heard from MacCaps? I gave him my Mac back in June to recap and after several delays he said he was going to get to it but then stopped responding to emails. Did something happen to him?

Posted by: nglevin on 2018-09-16 19:34:33 I've had largely positive experiences with MacCaps when I used to send him random audio and computer junk to fix up about fourish years ago.
Without adding fuel to the fire, there have been others on this forum who have mentioned that he has their stuff and hasn't been responding. This thread has some details. (Ugh, that thread.)
I hope you can reclaim your merchandise soon, safe and sound, and that everything resolves itself.
