Posted by: Macdrone on 2013-05-07 21:51:32
I got 8 and 24 meg card. Ill take as many parts as you can squeeze into a flat rate box. I don't have an extra power cord for the 190 is that ok? Ill put it back together and make sure it boots before I send it and give you specs so PM me your address and ill get it out to you.

Ok chip replaced. Covered burn hole in plastic with plastic held by tape as not to arc again. Pleasently surprised to find the unit powered right on with 40 Meg's of ram and a 1 gig stock hard drive. Thought it was 117 with a 750 meg. Whole system folder was jacked looked like it was used as an external hard drive till it died so put 7.6.1 on it. Works great.

I'm very glad to hear that you're up and running with an available replacement part, nice job.

Hold off on sending anything my way! I've yet to wade through the stack of 1400s to see what I can put together for you. It's going to take some time, be patient. I have to rebuild Beater, prep the goodies for three hacks and jr's KarmaBook1400 needs to go out before I can rummage through whatever is left for your goodies.

Don't worry, they'll be goodies all right! :approve:

No rush and thank you.

that was actually a MOSFET, not a chip. very common high failure item in modern motherboards at least. especially in toshibas.
