| Quadra 700 with SCSI2SD? |
Posted by: uniserver on 2015-10-01 18:45:44 Yup true!!
i would like the adaptor to be as flush with the rear as possible. maybe even do a fancy logo on the back of the pcb... I don't like big honking things hanging off the back of the computer... i would like to pop it on, and leave it there. least intrusive as possible. And just shelve the mac and even leave the adaptor on.
All he would have to do is redo the port holes in the space where the 50 pin 90 degree header already is... and just make 25 larger holes... and take a standard DB25 male... and pop it through and solder it on... then the adaptor will hang right on the connector at a nice 90 degree flush to the rear of the mac. could even leave the sd card as is.. or if he wanted to relocate the SD card socket ... could do that ... but might not even be necessary.

Posted by: uniserver on 2015-10-01 22:27:25 yeah its good that he has 3 in stock now. stock was 0 for so long on those 2.5" boards.
i hear ya on the gender changer… or i could take that same adaptor and desolder the female db25 and solder on a male… and on the SCSI2 sd i could desolder the 90 degree 50 pin header and solder on normal header, then i can at least achieve most of what i'm looking for, ya know?

Posted by: NJRoadfan on 2015-10-02 05:19:37 I already made a post about a possible 2.5" adapter. The size of the v5.0 boards is within the size of a 2.5" drive, making an adapter practical. No need for any bulky power connections either since the +5v can be fed via the termination power pin + diode (for safety of course).

If this had a male DB-25 instead... Wow! I have a limited quantity of these DB25M to IDC50F adapters in stock here in the US. PM me directly if you'd like to order one.
