That's just the 2xx and 7xx series, though. Granted โ€“ย that covers 19 years, but ..

How about the old M40 trans with the "long throw" shift? They felt like you were driving a bus ๐Ÿ˜‰

My late uncle had one in the same color with a landau top. He did a Ford 302 conversion on it. Very fast.

^ And the 900 series. In Europe, Volvo used the M47 until 1998. Re: the 140 series, luckily, the oldest 140 I've owned was a blue '72 142E, not unlike the one you sold to Sean, then went to Ben @ RSI. Just still stock, engine-wise. Used a stiffer spring to prevent the shifter from accidentally going into reverse.

I had no idea that the 900 series was available in a manual shift. Goes to show how USA-centric I am, I guess. I should have known it would have been available as a 5-speed in Europe.

I had a 5-speed 850 which isn't all that common. The downside is that it was a '93 GLT and normally aspirated. A pretty gutless car, all in all.

Supposedly, the 940 Turbo was available in '91 with the M47 as a special order option here in the states. Never saw one, though. Yeah, friend of mine has a '96 base 850 wagon with the 5-speed...

I like the pull up ring for reverse, my Saab had that.

Nearly bought a 960 wagon a few years ago, had all the maintenance records(timing belt done on time) but oh, mega smoker car, worst I'd ever experienced. BARF! had to pass on that one.

Yeah, my mother's car is one where you want to hold your breath before you climb into it if you have to.

A truck I had(actually that I bought instead of that 960) was a former smokers car too, but I could live with it, light smell on hot days, no biggie... That 960 was eye watering intense, never experienced anything that bad.

dont you love it when you flip the heat on in a smokers car, and stinky cig ash comes out of the vents and sticks in your eyeballs ๐Ÿ™‚

Luckily, never suffered that fate. Ewww.
