The classics really do nothing for me. I had one as my own computer in grade school, its familiar territory. Plus by trading it I might be able to acquire more desirable stuff for my 7100. The design seems like a "safe" amalgam of older models with some newer flourishes. Its not that its a bad computer, I'm just over it. And the fact that it will never be more than it is is deflating.
The SE/30 is mysterious, capable, and it has opportunities for further exploration. Assuming I can succesfully identify its problem and repair it I think it has the lucky spot on my shelf.
The others I will try to get to those who can appreciate them.

Best of luck on your quests, lemme know what you need for the 7100, I've got one sans PSU/HDD . . . the remaining parts and maybe a couple of goodies are available. [😉] ]'>

...the Classic and Classic II are like the bottom of the barrel, bought by the billions by K12 schools and shipped out to China on pallets. I didn't think the Classic II was that common. :?: Oh dude... school districts. I went to an electronics reseller in Denver years ago and they had pallets, stacked on top of pallets - literally thousands of Classic II's in every condition, inside this warehouse from one of the schools down there. I've heard similar stories in other big cities. They were selling them for $10/each, or free if you take more than a couple...think I picked up two, and traded them off before I knew about the capacitor issues (they had weird problems.)

I still think the Classic II is a good one to have in a collection, despite its obvious shortcomings.
The hideous design by committee visage and MoBo specs of the Color Classic make the SE/30 look like an athletic prom queen . . . 😛
I know lots of folks like the looks of the CC . . . but , damn! It must be an acquired taste or the lure of TAKKYfication. That last almost convinced me to get one, though I've hated the case design from first sight on the cover of one of the MacMags.
