The gel obviously works but appears to be dangerous for beginners (streaking, blotching etc). This liquid dip looks better to me, plus rather than removing gel and re-applying you can simply stir the liquid.

Posted by: krye on 2011-07-01 20:39:48 Agreed. The gel is too strong. I used to keep the solution under UV lamps until it damn near went critical mass. It would get so hot it would let off steam and almost melt the bucket. It bubbles like crazy and thickens to a gel. It's a pretty nasty cocktail. If you're not careful, it'll bleach the plastic and ruin it. I left it in too long and the whole thing turned an ashy white. I also didn't know at the time that the badge was basically just a sticker. It did not survive. I also didn't realize at the time that you can push a paper clip through the hole behind it an pop it out.

I've got a Mac SE SuperDrive model (the only one I've seen in Australia) which needs some serious "retro-brighting" so I need all the advice/tips/hints you can give so I don't ruin it! Dave.

Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2011-07-02 11:52:08 I haven't owned the II speakers in many years (gave them to my sister,) but I did own both the I and II at the same time. I greatly preferred the originals. Better tonal range, more bass.
