Fine, snub my plain and boring box art! 😉

JS, why don't you post some pics of your Apple disks when they arrive? It's your thread after all (btw, I was not expecting my System 7 box to gain the attention it did).

Yeah, I suppose I should. The pictures were fairly average, so I'll take some better ones to put up. After all, what is a conquest without photos? A nonquest.

The disks arrived today, and I'm pretty pleased. The 12 800k floppies all work, and I took Disk Images of them so I can store them securely. It is System 7.0, and it all works perfectly!

The System 7.6 box was damaged, so I took off the shrink wrap, but everything inside is in as new condition. All the manuals, CDs, floppies, warranty cards, even a small brochure for the 'new'G3 iMac.

Very nice. I'm curious though - how did an iMac brochure get into a sealed System 7.6 box? Mac OS 8 was released around July 1997, and the iMac didn't become public knowledge until April 1998. I can't imagine they would have still been making new copies of System 7.6 by then...

I know, it's a bit weird. Everything in the box has a copyright date of 1997 (except the iMac 'Think Different' brochure), so maybe they did continue to sell for a little while afterwards? It is Australian stock too.

Also, there is a disc inside for 7.6, and one for 7.6.1.

If I remember, Apple still sold certain versions of the system for some time after they had formally been discontinued. I seem to recall Apple still selling 7.1 about ten years ago.

Bump from the future - I have finally taken Concorde1993's high res scan, floated out the text and other elements, and cleaned the cropping and scratches. If anyone would like a copy please let me know, but it's a 6MB .xcf (The Gimp file format) with all the layers preserved.

Low res preview:

Glad I was of some assistance, Coxy.
