| Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2010-08-01 00:15:48 Well, with 25 minutes left, my sad attempt ends with just two of 30 games reviewed.
I thought I was going to get another 5.25" drive from someone local via another vintage computing forum; but it took two weeks to finally meet up with him, and he gave me a box of old hardware; none of it the 5.25" drive that was the one and only thing he actually offered me.
And most of the old hardware is crap. A couple broken mid-range (for their time,) video cards; a bunch of old low-end sound cards, some middling motherboards (the most interesting of which are baby AT, and I don't have any AT chassis,) etc.
In the whole box o' crap, the only things I'm even considering keeping are a box of PC-100/133 RAM, a PCI ATA-133 card (Mac compatible is the only reason I'm thinking of keeping it,) a passively cooled Radeon 9600, a PCI Matrox Millennium, and a 3dFX Voodoo 5 5500. I *MIGHT* keep one of the ATX motherboards, if only because it's a Socket 7 (Pentium) with AGP and ISA. So it would be a good one to play vintage games on.
| Posted by: Unknown_K on 2010-08-01 01:56:00 You needed a 5.25" PC floppy drive?
| Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2010-08-02 22:01:03 Yeah. A guy from another forum who lives close to me offered one up; but we had our meeting delayed by two weeks, and when we finally did, he gave me a big box of hardware, with nary a 5.25" drive to be seen...
| Posted by: Unknown_K on 2010-08-03 09:21:10 Ebay has them, if not I can sell you a 1.2MB 5.25" drive (or 360K).
