| Solar Bookcover for PB 1400 |
Posted by: J English Smith on 2010-01-26 07:30:19 The solar option won't work for me, but if there is a good re-cell service available for the 1400 batteries, I'd be interested in that. I had looked into it a bit online but the cost was fairly high - in the $70 to $90 range. I have two newer batteries for the 1400 that work "OK" - maker is VST, bought these from Wegener a few years back. Other than that, I just use the 1400s on wall power most of the time.

Posted by: p8712 on 2010-01-30 08:14:26 I'm glad to see my thread is still going strong. My panel still works, and is currently still sitting in its box, waiting for the day I find a 1400 worthy of it!

Posted by: p8712 on 2010-06-17 19:38:21 Finally, a new conquest! Ebay has provided me with a 1400 for the panel. It's a 1400c, with a sonnet 333 G3, 64 megs of ram, 1 gig hard drive, 8x CD/floppy. PERFECT 10/10 condition, not a chip, scratch, or scuff to be found. Seriously, you'd think it was 1997. The seller told me it had been sitting in storage for a long time. Of course, the only issue is a dead main battery. Time to look into recelling!
I'll post pics once I figure out how...

Posted by: J English Smith on 2010-06-18 11:45:10 Very cool! I did not realize that it sticks out like that - but I guess it has to be like that for the wiring, etc. behind the solar cells. Love the color. Definitely a conversation starter!
