Wishful thinking, but no, it is not abandonware. There are no legal download sites for iMovie 2. You'll have to find another way to obtain it (e.g., from an old OS install disc).
Poke around craigslist. I got a pressed copy of OS X 10.0.3, along with iMovie 2 for OS X and OS 9 for $20 a while back 🙂

And no offense, but I'm not sharing. I have no need for Apple's legal team to swoop on me. Just pointing out that it's not impossible to find around.

It would be Abandonware...Apple actually did not charge for iMovie 2, it was a free download, from the Apple website. iMovie was free until version 4, with iLife '04.

If it was always free, if you're planning to run OS X, I still have iMovie 2.1.1.
