Those are some great LCD's. I wouldn't want to toss one either.
However...
I can one of those for about $200 on craigslist in working order.
If you sent it out for repair how much would it be versus getting another one that works?
Nice score on the G4 also.

One place says $209 for a 22" Cinema Display, another place I'm awaiting an email back, so we'll see.
