Posted by: Devon on 2008-04-11 20:06:11
the machines are almost identical

icebook has 500mhz vs 466mhz on the SE

same 576 megs of ram and same video chipset ati rage mobility 128 8mb

only big difference like you said was the hard drives, iam installing panther still on the icebook as we speak so i'll let you know how it goes when it is done.

ok i installed panther and i got a xbench of 8.73 so thats about in the territory of the clamshell which is good seems alot speedier and iam happy.

Yeah that score seems about right.

The fastest clamshell was the Key Lime one @ 466MHz over a 66MHz FSB.

The chiclet was launched @ 500MHz on the same 66MHz FSB.

Minus a point or two hear and there, they should bench roughly the same.

I do think the snow ibooks saw updated video. Yes it was a Rage and 8MB of RAM. How much does the Clamshell have?

The later clamshells had 8MB too.
