Dana (thanks to Samantha for the pair of 128MB simms!) Now you just need a SIMMDoubler so you can install *two* 128MB SIMMs in your Q605. 🙂
Of course with the doubler sticking up, you can't really close the lid...

And now you know why System 7 sucks on a 68000 based machine. Even a stripped configuration eats up all the RAM. Even taking Dana's 7mb cache setup into consideration, System 7 is still a pig on early Macs. Too true. No 32-bit addressing, for starters, so forget Mode32. CFM-68K crashes it. Retrofitting of AppearanceCDEV and its Extension gives irremediable address errors. And on, and on. A couple of wasted days in outcome, but a fair degree of learning in my recent/current resuscitation of a rather nice 4MB (80ns, to match the RAM on expansion card and MLB) Classic 'Rev. B' whose only fault is an apparent need for resoldering of the video-in card's connections to the CRT. After several hours of use, or in a Summer ambience, the 3:1 chequers appear at restart, and all further startup activity ceases. No chime. No nuttin'.
But there is one happy note: it will run TattleTech 2.59, which is useful if not as complete as 2.84 on later Macs.

Of course with the doubler sticking up, you can't really close the lid... Unless you retrofit a IIsi lid on it.... 😀

Thankfully someone helped you with the RAM and turning on 32-bit addressing. That's all it was. Also, System 7 was awesome with 680x0 machines. It sucked on PPC boxes since it and all the apps ran in emulation. I can't believe all the erroneous posts on this board.
FYI I owned a 605 and you can overclock it by unsoldering and switching two surface mount resistors on the underside of the logic board. I did it safely. You might not want to try. The information might not be available. And I have forgotten the resistor locations. But you can do it.
