I’ve found the plugins, but I’ve not found anything about the book.. you wouldn’t happen to have a link to information about it, would you?

@Durosity Here's an Amazon link with the ISBN and stuff.

Here's a PDF copy you can view on Archive.org.

And here's a Disk Image of my copy.

So on Friday had a little bit of a swap with @mg.man. I’m now the proud owner of a IIc. Of course this has the problem of breaking my “only ever buy Macintosh items because if not you’ll start buying every bloody vintage computer related thing you can find and end up a divorced hoarder, eventually killed by an avalanche of piled up 5150s” rule. So if I die l, it’s his fault! In this swap I also got a IIfx case, a LC 475, and a 1st gen Core Duo MacBook Pro in beautiful condition!

Also thanks to @VMSZealot i now have a slightly wonky LaserWriter 8500! Actually.. should I be thanking him.. or should he be thanking me for taking it off his hands?

You've done the community a solid by taking on that LaserWriter. There can't be many around. Hope you can fix it!

Me too!

You've done me a solid - I'd have felt very guilty if I'd had to take it to the tip.

The printer is fine. Unfortunately it's the cartridges which aren't. Specifically, it's the wiper blades which are not flexing properly.

Thank you too ! I’ve just sold a kidney to get one. 😵‍💫

@Durosity I’m jealous of your LW 8500 !! 🤩🤩

Can I buy the other one? Mine aren't doing so great these days!

It's very cool. I hope I can find a way to resurrect it someday. For now it will live somewhere it should be fairly well protected from damage.

Wiper blades can be replaced if you can find a replacement that isn't old (or try soaking in alcohol to loosen up the rubber).

try soaking in alcohol
Ya know that’s a good idea.. my idea was heating it up to near melting point for a while.

Heat would deform it. Some people use boiling water.

Sorry, I didn’t use the right words.. this English language 🙄🤣. I meant heating it to the point before it started to deform.. like hot water. But ill need to do some research on it first.

But you'll have to deform it first to find out the threshold 😀

Yay…. 😳

I promise I won't actually take advantage 😛
