| Building an internal grayscale card for the SE/30 |
Posted by: micheledipaola on 2024-06-13 00:14:27 My SE/30 is looking forward to it 😀
amazing work @Bolle |
Posted by: croissantking on 2024-06-17 17:07:15 Registering my interest for a greyscale card. |
Posted by: JdM74 on 2024-06-17 19:01:46 Add me into that mix as well. 😁 |
Posted by: Coloruser on 2024-06-18 05:14:51 Interested, too |
Posted by: Louie on 2024-06-18 05:36:31 The entire community is interested. @Bolle could you provide a timeframe when you would want a count of who wants one? |
Posted by: Bolle on 2024-06-18 05:49:48 Absolutely not, no.
Not going to do any pre-sales, I don't want anybody to pay me upfront to secure a card and I don't have the resources to maintain a list of people who might be interested and get back to every single one.
There will be a thread on the Trading Post section and from there it's first come, first serve. |

Posted by: Bolle on 2024-06-18 06:02:55 Nope, I don't. Not much planning going on with these things these days. I work on stuff when time permits and I don't work on it when there's other things to do. |
Posted by: just.in.time on 2024-06-20 23:53:24 Awesome progress @Bolle |

How many you plan on making? And what's the anticipated price? I’m sure all will be revealed soon. I understand the excitement but let’s be patient. I just feel it might be nice not to pester Bolle with too many presales questions at this stage. |
Posted by: Mac-Man on 2024-06-24 14:31:25 I have to say I’m impressed Bolle got the card to work in 1 and 8-bit mode, that was the one thing holding me back.
And if somebody really needs it NOW and has money to burn, it seems like someone is selling one of Bolle’s grayscale prototype cards on eBay for a hefty price tag:
Internal Grayscale video card for Macintosh SE/30 similar to Micron Xceed | Computers/Tablets & Networking, Vintage Computing, Vintage Parts & Accessories | eBay!

Posted by: 68krazy on 2024-06-30 08:39:05 I am interested in one as well |
Posted by: AnalogDarling on 2024-07-01 00:15:34 Congrats on the dual 1 and 8 bit modes. I’m excited for when the card goes up for sale. The accelerator has been wonderful. Thanks for all your work with these great projects! |
Posted by: LongAlphabet on 2024-07-21 15:11:09 Fantastic! Add me into the mix as interested in one of these - the SE/30 with a Grayscale card in the early 90s blew away little me as a child - was so impressed! I never thought I'd own one...
..now I have an SE/30, but it's still just black and white only. This card would make the dream come true! |
Posted by: iantm on 2026-01-02 09:17:10 I joined the party too late, it seems. I'd really like to pick up one of these but it appears that the two makers have moved on. Registering my interest here all the same, in case more show up. |
