I know that some of us collectors are a bit odd but building a hidden room for stashing your 486s in seems perhaps a little excessive... Well, it was in a large house in a very rough part of Newcastle (apparently there was a big riot there in the early 90s and half of it was demolished after it) so maybe they felt safer having stuff hidden! | |

The hidden room was for the 8100. | |

I put in a bid of £5.. and it went for £1.86. It wasn’t that far a drive away, so went down there one morning and picked them up in my little Zoe! While I was in Nottingham we went for a tour of the caves.. if you’re ever there I’d suggest you do it! So today.. I’ve started sifting through the boxes.. as expected the SCSI cables I wanted are there, the AAUI transceivers.. etc.. but then just as I was emptying out one of the boxes… I saw this.  It even works! I have a couple of them, but the plastic is broken.. this one is intact (although I imagine it’s only time until it does break!) but either way I’m chuffed, I’ve wanted a working one of these for my “Directors Edition” PowerMac 5500/275 for ages! | |

I’ve always had a deep love for the Marathon games, and I hate myself for binning my old original triangular boxed copies of Marathons 1, 2, and ∞. And this even has the three unused stickers inside it still!  | |

I was only able to grab one (you’re not supposed to take anything and the staff are very protective of it) so I chose the Flower Power, even although it was missing the bottom case.. the others were just graphites.  | |
