| Why 68KMLA is amazing... |

You know, its been so long! I can't believe I haven't checked it out after everything got back up and running. After my cancer surgery I was going to be doing lots of talking on here, and it was dead! I had to rely on... other sites, and sort of got stuck on them.
Compared to one large rumor site, this place just feels like home, since I think I had joined here when I was 14 or 15.
Nice things:
-People actually help each other here
-People are nice, and don't talk down other people's opinions
-If someone types the wrong advice, the next poster isn't a jerk when correcting the mistake
-People give other people good deals because they like helping fellow collectors
-If something is worth $50, there won't be a lowballer talking crap about the seller and the item to save $8.
-And the list goes on.
Thanks for being a great site, and members this is a big thank-you, for probably being one of the most mature, friendly computer-related message boards on the internet and for trying to keep it that way.

I agree this place is such a great community.
It has a warm feeling.
This seems like a place where everyone is your friend.
Places like Mac Forums and Applefritter seem so exposed and public.

Indeed, indeed. This is really the only computer forum i go to, because i'm not mentioning any names, but all the others either:
a) Got too big for my liking (this is the perfect size IMHO 😀 )
B) Became too...well...snobby/upmarketish/pretentious for my liking (i like places like this where everyone is friendly with everyone)
c) Became too Nazi-ish
d) All of the above

When the hats get mentioned on LowEndMac articles then I feel that they've passed form being the insane rantings of some English dude to being a cultural icon 😀

Hence why I said "Sparked It"... you coined the term.
But yes, it's now somewhat of a cultural icon... the "Mac Hats". One place this could apply is on the G3/G4/G5/Mac Pro, where there's 2 "Feets" and the top handles are "Hats".
