Posted by: funkytoad on 2007-05-18 19:19:22 A Macintosh TV?!
It seems to be just an LC520 in a black case with a built in TV tuner.
But is says on the front: "Macintosh TV"
What is the story with this?

Posted by: The Macster on 2007-05-18 19:21:40 They're very rare - sadly that one looks trashed, so not worth getting in my opinion.
|
Posted by: bluekatt on 2007-05-18 19:23:50 only thing worth getting from them is the tv card
|
Posted by: funkytoad on 2007-05-18 19:24:14 Yeah, if it wasn't so trashed I would have considered getting it.
Poor thing! 🙁

Posted by: bluekatt on 2007-05-18 19:32:33 i think you should
i would do it it might not be much of a mac but its a nifty collectors item even if it is incomplete and somewhat damaged

Posted by: bluekatt on 2007-05-18 19:42:18 rightey dokey skip
and then you need to look for a black keyboard and mouse
which might prove even more trouble some
|
Posted by: funkytoad on 2007-05-18 19:49:59 I would imagine so
|
Posted by: bluekatt on 2007-05-18 19:53:13 stil worth it though

Posted by: Tom on 2007-05-18 21:55:00 The later PDS cards are superior. The Mac TV only supported taking screenshots from the TV and couldn't play TV in window, only full screen.
|
Posted by: iMac600 on 2007-05-18 23:17:18 Go for it. It may have a bit of damage, but only 10,000 were mass produced and as such, they're rare.
The PDS, etc TV cards were better, but the rarity of the Macintosh TV name makes the Mac TV more of a collectible item.

Posted by: MacMan on 2007-05-19 04:32:48 The damage on that is not too bad really, and it looks like it has been glued together. As for the keyboard and mouse, try checking the eBay UK as Apple shipped black PowerMac 5400s and 5500s with matching keyboards here. You do see the keyboards quite often and they tend not to demand a very high price (but shipping to the US might).
Alternatively, spray a normal keyboard black!
