My conquest of the year:Due at 2:00PM EST
Posted by: IIfx on 2011-05-21 08:51:12
Awesome craigslist hit. Wanted ads pull magic.

a IIfx with 64mb RAM

a 8100 with 64mb RAM and Sonnet accelerator

a dead 9500

A PCI Radius clone with 256mb RAM and tons of PCI cards

Piles of SCSI drives, cables, cards, ram

Boxed software

and the cake:

Radius Rocket Cards.

And 2 apparently brand new.

Glory.

All for a price I will disclose later for suspense.

I am happy. :beige:

2:00 is so far away!

Awesome! Congrats IIfx! 😀 Will there be any REAL cake at the party? 😛 I'd love to see pictures of the software. Never know what little gold nuggets you might have there. 😉

Congrats! That sounds like an awesome score.

Is the Radius clone a 81/100? I'd love to get my hands on one of those but I seriously doubt I'd find one over here.

This is the score of the year.

All macs are LOADED. All slots filled. Every one, the IIfx, Radius 81/100, and PM8100 are like new. Each have a Radius Rocket in them. Each have CPU accelerators and large hard drives. All seem to have max ram. I cant wait to power them up. Who knows what are on their SCSI drives.

I am the 2nd owner of this all. Previous owner was an older man who was an Electronics Engineer. First time I met one in person.

Software, the most I have ever seen. List will be as follows.

A large box full of all kinds of RAM, 72 pin and 32 pin simms....

Piles of Nubus Cards, 2 brand new Rockets, brand new Photobooster for Rocket

Piles of PCI cards, including Radius Video cards and PC in Mac cards.

Apple Extended II KB

Stylewriter 1200

Campus Software set for Mac

2 new motherboards for 81/110

1 spare IIfx Motherboard

Box of Nubus Ethernet cards

Epson ES-600C SCSI Scanner

Large Bag of Mac related wires.

Sonnet PCI G4 1000 x2

2 Sonnet G3 PCI cards.

Now software:

Boxed: System 7.0, Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Lotus 1-2-3, Aldus IntelliDraw, Aldus Freehand, Aldus Persuasion, Aldus Percision, Aldus Sperpaint, Claris resolve/Impact/Works, WordPerfect, Microsoft Project, Delta Graph and Delta Point, Alarming Events, Mac Link Plus.

Unboxed:

Adobe Photoshop 2.x

FWB Hard Disk Toolkit

And of course, pics or it did not happen.

And the price? $150.

Bargain of the year.

Also I wrote on the plain boxes so I know what they are.

Very very nice! :O What is the Campus Software Set?

Great haul, worth the money!

Posted by: IIfx on 2011-05-21 17:49:15
My back still hurts and I am nowhere done analizing all the stuff.

The IIfx has been maxed out. 2 Stage II rockets, one with DSP and one with SCSI. Both have 64mb RAM. The IIfx has 64mb of its own RAM also, and a supermac GPU.

The 81/110 has 256mb RAM, a Sonnet G3 500mhz, and a Sonnet Nubus GPU. I will look at this later in detail.

The 8100 has a Newer Tech G3 at 2xxmhz, the HPV card with maxed VRAM, and 72mb RAM. It also had a rocket in it for some reason. This time just a normal rocket.

I have mountains of PCI mac CPU upgrades including 2 1000mhz G4s. Will try them out in my 9500 later.

And I have 2gb worth of EDO RAM for PCI Powermacs....so much.

I wont be done sorting through it all until the end of summer.

The Campus software set is a collection of 3rd party apps by apple for colleges.

8 floppy set with manuals.

Also I figured out what Rockets I have.

2 Stage II Rockets, one with SCSI II, one with DSP. Both have 64mb RAM

3 33mhz plain rockets, 2 brand new and sealed and anti-static bag, 1 with an unknown amount of ram and SCSI-2

The 81/110 is a pretty nice mac, but I cant figure out how to get to the PRAM battery.

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2011-05-22 10:50:48
The PRAM should be under the power supply, you have to remove the PS to get to it.

Might be related to the Apple Student Resource Set. I have this on floppy disk and CD.

Wow. I'm rarely jealous of a conquest, but I'll make an exception in this case!

Posted by: IIfx on 2011-05-23 13:58:05

Most of the rockets. One Stage II is in the IIfx.

The 2 on the left are sealed in static bag. New 33mhz rockets.

Wow! Excellent conquest!

Posted by: Bunsen on 2011-05-23 15:05:06
OK, now I've moved beyond jealousy into sick, green envy!

Posted by: Byrd on 2011-05-23 16:30:52
I'm with Bunsen - jealous x 2! I have to say, it would be nigh on my ultimate haul too - sometimes just finding a stock Mac isn't too exciting, it's what's inside that counts (upgrades, accelerators, other cards) - and in this case, you scored well 🙂

I wonder what they were all used for previously, and why there are so many amazing upgrades together?

The previous owner was some sort of engineer. Lots of mathematical applications on these macs.

(i.e mathmatica)

Also, anyone know about PCI Radius video cards, and x86 PC on a PCI cards from them also? I have quite a few of those.

Also in a boring looking old cardboard box, 4 ATi Radeon 7000 mac edition. :O

Also here is my IIfx with loads of Rockets in it for the lolz.

It ran very hot so I decided on only having 1 or 2 rockets in the IIfx. I will be putting one in my Quadra 800 tonight as well. (Hope they work with System 7.6)

If you ever, EVER want to get rid of a PCI Power Mac G4 card, I'd be first in line :3

That's quite possibly one of the best hauls I've ever seen! Nice going.

Did he have any legit engineering/scientific software in that lot?
