Very, very nice. Hopefully it's something simple. In the pic, it didn't show a keyboard plugged in. Perhaps he doesn't know about Macs and that you can only boot from the keyboard? Whatever it is, It's probably easy (failed hard drive, no OS, etc.)

Well its got a card in the PDS slot with a DB connector of about that size, so I'd guess thats what it is. While it could be an AUI ethernet or video card, I'm hedging my bets on it being a IIe card.
According to the serial number, it was built in Fremont, CA...interesting. While we here in Australia did get some Macs from Fremont (my Quadra 700 came from Fremont, as did my original Mac), I think all the LC series Macs I've seen have been Singapore-built.

I pushed the button in back of the box, if I recall correctly. I really liked it, though. Let the kids use it when I got my orange iMac. Now it's buried in the closet...

She's here! The guy decided to give it to me for free, too! She does not boot, even with a keyboard connected, so I'm assuming the battery on the logic board is dead. So, I'll have to order one.
Oh yeah, it has the IIe card. 🙂

so I'm assuming the battery on the logic board is dead. So, I'll have to order one. Nay. My Q605 does not like to boot without a battery, but it will. The LC will boot without a battery, but always in black and white. The keyboard has nothing to do with anything, unless you want to type some stuff after the LC has booted up.
Last time I checked, batteries are round. :lol: No, I think you're getting confused with car tires. Those are round.

As for the battery, can't you rig up 2 AA batteries in a series, and it will work just fine?
I'll be experimenting more with this in the next few days. BTW, She's filthy. 🙂

Try flipping the power on, waiting a few seconds, then quickly toggling it off then on. If the PRAM is dead, then this usually puts enough juice in the system for the computer to boot.

Yep, that's it. This is the exact thing I do to get my Quadra 605 going. Though the LC should not need that. But maybe yours will.

The power-supply is attempting to save itself or the computer from becoming fried. Same thing happens on Apple II computers. Something on the motherboard is wrong.
The easiest thing to rule-out for a no-load condition is whether or not the cable from the supply is connected properly with the motherboard. After that, I don't know.

Oh yeah, it has the IIe card. 🙂 Could just need recapping, is there capacitor goo all over the place? One of my LC3 boards was completely dead untill I recapped it (think I have it in the forsale area), you might just need that done to yours. Seems like the older stuff needs recapped these days to function and a LC1 is older then an LC3.

I was thinking that too. In the lower right corner, near the PDS slot, there is some brown crap that looks like rust, so maybe that is capacitor goo? Maybe I'll send it to Mike for recapping, regardless.
Dad checked the power supply - fuse is fine, and we're going to test the individual leads to check the output.
